The Experience
Kakegawa Castle
This beautiful castle is known as the Great Castle of the Tokai Region and was the first full-scale wooden castle to be restored in Japan. Around 130 cherry trees of three varieties are planted around the castle, so many tourists visit every spring.
Tenryu Hamanako Railload
This railroad is a local train in Shizuoka Prefecture. From the train window, you can enjoy the countryside scenery, the Tenryu River, a big river in Shizuoka, and a nostalgic unmanned station. Miyaguchi Station, which is used in this tour, is registered as a national tangible cultural property, and you can feel the history of the station.
Hana No Mai Japanese Sake Brewery
This brewery makes sake using 100% Shizuoka rice. You can enjoy paring taste the recommended sake according to the theme, with finger food. In addition, you can try pressed Moromi your hand at making your own sake. You can take home the sake you made as a souvenir.
This tour starts from Kakegawa Station, but you can add the Roundtrip Shinkansen ticket from Nagoya. If you want it, please add the extra option when you book the tour. If you are JR Pass holder, you can get to Kakegawa in only 1 hour from Nagoya.
Notes 1. We will have lunch time on the Tenryu Hamanako Railroad, so bring your own food and eat it on the train. 2. you must be at least 20 years old because alcohol will be served. 3. please make sure you bring your own alcohol back to your country. 4. if the alcohol ferments, there is a possibility of explosion when you take the lid.
